The ESMira app is provided by Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences (German: Karl Landsteiner Privatuniversität für Gesundheitswissenschaften GmbH).

The purpose of the ESMira app is to conduct anonymous scientific studies.

1. Information on the processing of your data

Certain information is already processed automatically as soon as you use the app. We have listed below which personal data is processed exactly:

1.1 Information collected during download

When you download the ESMira app , certain required information is transmitted to the app store you have selected (e.g. Google Play or Apple App Store). In particular, the username, the email address, the customer number of your account, the time of the download, payment information and the individual device identification number may be processed. The processing of this data is carried out exclusively by the selected store and is beyond our control.

1.2 Information that is collected automatically

As part of your use of the ESMira app , we automatically collect certain data that is required for the use of the ESMira app . This includes: Operating system (e.g. Android), OS version, (e.g., 9), manufacturer (e.g., Motorola) and model (e.g. Moto G). This data is automatically transmitted to us

to provide you with the service and related features,
to improve the functions and performance features of the ESMira app and
to prevent and resolve misuse and malfunctions.

1.2.1 Legal basis

This data processing is justified by the fact that

the processing is necessary for the performance of the contract between you as the user and us according to sec.6 sentence.1 lit. b EU-GDPR for the use of the ESMira app , or
we have a legitimate interest in ensuring the functionality and error-free operation of the ESMira app and
to be able to offer a service that is in line with the market and interests, which here outweighs your rights and interests in the protection of your personal data within the meaning of sec.6 sentence.1 lit. f EU-GDPR.

1.3 Information collected in the study

As an identifying feature we use an automatically assigned key, which is randomly generated during initial start of the ESMira app. This unique key does not contain any personal or identifiable information that can be associated with you.
